CHRIST

"Would Jesus himself feel at home in the ranks of today’s Christians? Or would he be too Unchristian for the religion that calls him Christ?"

Picture
From 2014 to 2021, the percentage of adults in the U.S. who identified themselves as Christians declined from 78% to 63%. This means about 49 million fewer people associated themselves with the religion built on the teachings of Christ.

And while it is difficult to find anyone who has something negative to say about the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, a quick internet search for “What do you dislike about Christians?” returns a litany of complaints and objections.

What if we reviewed the most common complaints about Christians, and compared those to what we know about Jesus of Nazareth?

About the Author

Picture
Kerry Morris is not a theologian or pastor, but he has been an intentional and imperfect follower of Jesus for over forty years. He is a businessperson and a writer whose work leads him to thousands of interactions annually, mostly with people who do not profess to be Christian. This project was driven by a deep desire to understand different perspectives, and passion for the kind of truth that shines brighter under the light of scrutiny. Kerry lives in the Atlanta, Georgia, area with his amazing wife, three wonderful children and one habitually problematic dog.
